How we’re imagining this all goes down

A little reverent, a little reckless, we’re launching an exploration in which we open the bottles we’re not supposed to and uncork the ones we have to try.

Each month, our aim is to crack open an investment-grade wine we’ve been holding and learn exactly what’s contained in its musty depths. Alongside that, we’ll feature monthly interviews with winemakers, drinking the bottles they’re currently obsessed with. Together. Somehow. Logistics TBD.

What is Wine Crushing?

Aside from an unbelievably adorable URL, it’s a slightly sideways look at what’s in the glass. A record of drinking and noticing things. Musings on proximity to value and experience and the what-the-hell of cashing it in anyway.

We’re starting with two threads:

  • Drinking My Portfolio
Tasting from a managed asset stack of investment-grade wines — the ones we’re not supposed to touch.
  • Winemaker’s Pass
A chain letter, of sorts, from winemaker to winemaker, where they call out the work they love, and we go to the source to find out what makes it unforgettable.

It’s wine as future and present. Holding on and letting go.

What’s In It?

Whether you want to sip from the sidelines or dive into the deep end, here’s what each tier contains:

Flight Crew — $8/month
Buy the ticket, take the rosé.

  • Full access to monthly content and tasting notes
  • Winemaker interviews
  • Eligibility for the monthly featured bottle perk
  • 7-day free trial for new subscribers

The Revisit — $20/month
Linger over the pour.

  • Everything in Flight Crew
  • Bottle-themed merch drops
  • Curated pairings — not always food, but always (hopefully) in good taste
  • Access to bottle drop and events, as they happen
  • Reports on personal portfolio buys

The Tipsy Topper — $24/month
Closer to the Crush.

  • Everything in the Revisit
  • Priority access for drops and events
  • A members-only badge that says you got in before it was cool (could be a while)

Perks, Promises and Possibilities

We’re still figuring out exactly what this Wine Crushing thing wants to be — but we already know it should give something back.

Here’s what we’re planning:

The Winemaker’s Bottle, Delivered

Each month, one of our subscribers will receive a bottle — the same one featured in the upcoming winemaker interview. We’ll buy it. They’ll ship it. You’ll drink it before the post even drops.

Merch That Drops When It’s Ripe

We’re not trying to drop hoodies with every post, but if a bottle speaks to us, we might print what it says.

That could mean:

  • A tasting note T-shirt that reads like a promise
  • A sticker sheet of would-be varietals
  • A poster of imaginary cellars
  • Maybe a zine, if the mood tracks

It’ll show up when it’s ready. And when inspiration strikes, you’ll be the first to know.

Events and Other What-Ifs

If this grows, and we hope it does, we’ve got some ideas:

  • Private subscriber-only auctions drawn from our winemakers’ cellar stash — small, rare or sentimental bottles that deserve the right drinker
  • Wine Crushing dinners or actual IRL events (convivial, thematic, likely candlelit)
  • Invites to join us in the field — to taste, to talk, and raise a glass in person

It’s all still bubbling away under the surface, but we’re open to exploring what’s possible. Nothing is off the table.

How Often?

This isn’t a race to the bottom of the glass. For now, we’ll publish one or two posts a month, depending on how easy it is to source the wines we’re crushing on, how interview schedules align, and... how much wine we want to drink.

Thanks for Being Here

We’re hoping this will be fun, and we’re glad you could join us. If not now, bookmark and come back later. Better yet, sign up for free and we’ll come to you.

If you like the vibe, share it. If not, there’s always another bottle.
